Maritime Technical Networking Summit — The Premier Platform for Innovation Shaping the Future of Maritime Technology
The 2nd Maritime Technical Networking Summit concluded with resounding success on May 14–15, 2026, at Grecotel La Riviera, setting a new benchmark for strategic dialogue on maritime decarbonization and technological innovation.
With more than 220 high-impact, pre-scheduled one-to-one meetings, the summit brought together senior Technical, Performance and Purchasing executives from leading maritime companies, creating a high-value platform for knowledge exchange and solution-driven collaboration, in two days of of high-impact networking.
Organized by Boussias Events under the auspices of MARTECMA, AMMITEC, the Propeller Club, the Hellenic Institute of Marine Technology, and HEMEXPO, the summit convened senior decision-makers and top technology providers, further reinforcing its role as a key meeting point for maritime innovation and operational excellence.
Highlights from the 2026 Summit
Keynote Address by the Deputy Minister of Maritime Affairs & Insular Policy, Stefanos Gikas The keynote addressed the milestones and challenges of the green and digital transition, setting the strategic tone for the summit. Deputy Minister Gikas emphasized that the radical renewal of the Greek coastal ferry fleet is a central pillar of national maritime policy, describing the modernization of the current 326-vessel fleet (with an average age of 30 years) as imperative. He outlined that the transition to a new coastal shipping model will rely on low- or zero-emission vessels, higher navigation safety standards, advanced energy-efficient technologies, and upgraded services for islanders and visitors alike.

Experts explored how the maritime sector can accelerate decarbonization through energy-efficient technologies, smart retrofitting, and innovative equipment—bridging the gap until green fuels become widely accessible.

The session examined the key drivers of Greek shipping’s competitiveness and highlighted emerging high-value opportunities within a rapidly evolving global environment.
